modus operandi

Um. Yes, I have a test tomorrow for my Creativity module (how ridiculous is that? What's the point in testing us about the theories and stuff related to something as abstract as creativity?!) but am digressing from it for a bit. Okay, so not 'a bit' because I've been watching (10 episodes of) The Big Bang Theory since lunch. And I initially wanted to wake up at 8.30am to study but was up at 8am and somehow fell back asleep until 11.30am. Ugh. So much time wasted.

Anyway, hey look it's Rex! Because apparently Y went and spent $4 on those egg toy capsule machines before it rolled out a Rex (or he exchanged with a friend who got the Rex), so... now I have it hanging from my handphone.

(I don't think he remembers/knows that Rex is my favourite from Toy Story, but he picked Rex out of the few other characters that rolled out, so. Yay! :D)

Yes, in case anyone's asking, there's no purpose whatsoever to this entry other than me wanting to brag about how awesome my bf is. HAHA.

After what seemed like forever, I've finally watched Toy Story 3 yesterday with Jay, Nat and Y (yes, I sat in between Jay and Y—the two non-believers of Pixar and animated films in general—on purpose). I was doing happy-flaily-dances of excitement even before entering the theatre and was already chair-dancing at Disney's lead-in sequence with Cinderella's (Sleeping Beauty's?) castle and and and :D

The short film before the actual movie, Day and Night, as is Pixar's tradition, was pretty cool with the totally different way of showing a movie and the story. Oh oh oh, the message in it was pretty awesome too. Aah~ So much love XD

Us uni clique had a gathering/outing yesterday after class because M.Yi, thesuperette and William's birthdays fell in the past two weeks.

Oh, digressing a bit, my Magazine Journalism lecturer is so bloody archaic it's not even cute. He disapproves of using 'one' in phrases like, "One has to first marvel at how the human ear can endure the volume of the music." and the words 'albeit' and 'ponder' because 'one' is a very old way of addressing one's self, 'albeit' supposedly went obsolete in the 1600s - and why are we even using it? - and 'ponder' is a Singaporean expression.

WHAT?

'One' is a perfectly good and neutral way to address a person or entity in formal writings, and 'ponder' is an English word, no? What in the world made it Singaporean? It's not even Singlish! AND I LIKE USING 'ALBEIT'. It shows that I know my vocabulary, it makes me feel more intellectual, and words going obsolete is a very very sad thing, if you ask me. 'Albeit' has its uses, which is more than I can say for so many weird words that can be substituted with simpler words that mean the same thing. And people do still use 'albeit'! Stop being so stiff about language when we're not writing formal stuff and wake up and smell the 21^st century. Seriously.

So I've managed to complete the required assignments before my deadline today (5p.m.). YAY. I survived on three hours of sleep the night before and I completed all my bloody assignments. Of course there are more assignments to come, but now I get to rest for a day or two before I start on schoolwork again. Um, like, YAY!
