これは私の部屋じゃない。
これはわたしのへやじゃない。
Kore wa watashi no heya ja nai.
This is not my room.

Since graduating from uni more than a month ago, I've finally dug up the courage to tackle the clutter and conquer the dust, ie., tidy my room and my desk. It was a two-day project on Monday and Tuesday because as contained as the clutter seemed, it's impossible to neutralise it in one day. Plus, I had Jay over on the first day for YouTube videos and Merlin watching so operations were put on hold before dinner on the first day.

私は奇妙な夢を見た。
わたしはきみょうなゆめをみた。
Watashi wa kimyou na yume wo mita.
I had a strange dream.

I think this is a sign that I'm too deep in the Merlin and Harry Potter fandom.

I had a dream that some of us (me and a few uni friends who I chat with more frequently on Twitter than we have the chance to in real life) have magic but it's not really accepted in society, and, added to that, one of the guys in my dream *ahem* isn't so straight.

There was rain, hoodies, flying on broomsticks, me having a mad search for my mobile phone with my previous phone in mind but eventually finding my current one, a young mother teaching homophobia to her child and why it's wrong for two people of the same gender to love each other, and our Media Interviews lecturer (strangely named 'Mr. London') searching/secretly hunting us down for being magic and accepting that homosexuality exists and thinking that it's not wrong.

I guess this dream alone explains how weird I am. Or who I am:

Rain: I LOVE rain.
Mobile phone: Geeky.
Having magic and not being accepted for it: Harry Potter and Merlin.
Broomstick flying: Harry Potter (I shouldn't have gotten myself angsty by looking at two pictures of Hedwig last night).
Homophobia-hate/Acceptance of the existence of homosexuality: Does this even need explaining?
Hoodies: I don't know, I just like hoodies.
Being hunted down by an ex-lecturer: It's not a secret that I DON'T LIKE HIM.
Him being called 'Mr. London': I have a thing for UK, a'ight?

I am so much weirder than I thought I am.

Um. Yes, I have a test tomorrow for my Creativity module (how ridiculous is that? What's the point in testing us about the theories and stuff related to something as abstract as creativity?!) but am digressing from it for a bit. Okay, so not 'a bit' because I've been watching (10 episodes of) The Big Bang Theory since lunch. And I initially wanted to wake up at 8.30am to study but was up at 8am and somehow fell back asleep until 11.30am. Ugh. So much time wasted.

Anyway, hey look it's Rex! Because apparently Y went and spent $4 on those egg toy capsule machines before it rolled out a Rex (or he exchanged with a friend who got the Rex), so... now I have it hanging from my handphone.

(I don't think he remembers/knows that Rex is my favourite from Toy Story, but he picked Rex out of the few other characters that rolled out, so. Yay! :D)

Yes, in case anyone's asking, there's no purpose whatsoever to this entry other than me wanting to brag about how awesome my bf is. HAHA.

休暇はすぐに終了する

Kyuuka wa sugu ni shuuryou suru.
(My) break is ending soon.

Ugh. It's Thursday already. Scratch that, it's Thursday, and it's ending already. It's kind of a mixed feeling because YAY! on Saturday I'll be meeting up with a few friends from my polytechnic diploma course who I haven't seen in a very long time, and on Sunday I'll be watching Toy Story 3 (TOY STORY 3!!! Let's take a moment to flail for a bit because GAH I watched it in the cinema with my father when the first movie came out and OMG time passed by so quickly it's the third movie already and Andy's all grown up and kinda cute and it's WOODY and BUZZ LIGHTYEAR and REX and I've even managed to convince my not-a-fan-of-Pixar-and/or-Disney-bf to watch it and and and I CANNOT WAIT TO FINALLY WATCH IT OMG THE ANTICIPATION!!!). But it's a BOO because that's the end of my term break and it's back to assignments again. With all but one presentation done, what's left are all the written assignments—and writing essays after essays and articles after articles is such a torture and a huge pain in the posterior. Am NOT looking forward to them.

Anyway, I was trying to get through my blogging assignment for Journalism this afternoon and as usual I was getting distracted by stuff. Namely, my coursemate's tweet. So I replied.

(I'm) bored~

Right. So I've been lazy and my LJ is on the verge of becoming a wasteland. I'm supposed to do my readings for Journalism because our presentation is in less than a week and we have to email one another the information to put into our Powerpoint slides by Monday, but, as we all know, it doesn't take much for me to give in to procrastination. Especially when there is proper work that needs to be done.

[Random update inserted here!]
Recently Zhenni, [livejournal.com profile] thesuperette and I went to Sunshine Plaza because [livejournal.com profile] thesuperette wanted to find some photography shop to check out a super small (toy?) digital camera she saw in a magazine, and even though I tried not to, I got attracted to a digital lomography camera.

If I'm not wrong, it's a Harinezumi 2. I was bought over by it having a macro function and being able to do sound recording. But I don't have the money to buy it =(

Ah well. *Adds to neverending wishlist*

Anyway, as I was saying, am bored and am procrastinating. So you get multiple updates from me! Woots!

Recently the weekends have been very warm!

I really didn't think about it/wasn't planning to blog anything about it, but since you mentioned it...

Damn, that escalator-and-lift system at Orchard Central is super confusing! D:

(Yeah, sitting in the corner at the back of the bus is so 'secondary school'-ish. But trying to sync common songs on our MP3 players? HAHA. We're so easily amused :D)

怖い!でも…すごい!
こわい!でも…すごい!
Kowai! Demo... Sugoi!
(It's) scary! But... (It's) amazing!

Remember those breakwaters at East Coast Park? So a few hours ago, Y and I saw dark shadows shifting about on the side facing the sea and I thought, "Whoa, rats?! Nah, can't be. Gotta be crabs." After a few seconds Y said those looked like rats after all. HOLY CRAP RATS CLIMBING UP AND DOWN AND ALONG THE FACE OF THE BREAKWATERS FACING THE SEA. And low enough that they were skirting the area where the breakwater was wet from the waves. Maybe they can swim, too? I remember that rats are capable of swimming... UGH EWW. I was equal parts freaked out and amazed at how good they are at climbing all over the steep incline. Then we spotted cockroaches on the breakwater, too. I wonder if the other people on that same breakwater ever noticed all those critters. *SHUDDERS*

Dear mother, one main reason why I let you know is so that I don't have to lie when I'm out. So you won't flip out and go berserk when you finally find out. So I don't need to always be on my guard and be paranoid that you might spot us wherever and create a scene. But with the ridiculous amount of control you want over the few and short moments we only get to have on weekends, it's making it very difficult to break my habit of lying. Grow up and smell the 21stcentury; don't tempt me back into hiding the truth from you.

I'm not a twelve-year-old child!

Curfews suck. And I really couldn't feel the vibration of my mobile phone through my shorts. Accept that, and shut it. And really, taking away my phone and Internet access for the night? I HAVE SUCH IMMATURE PARENTS (and utterly uncreative ones, at that).

In other news, I finally have my red Converse jacket back. YAYNESS.

Because I'm an unapologetic MERLIN fangirl )

なぜけちなので、あなたは?
Naze kechi na no de, anata wa?
Why are you so stingy?

I don't understand why parents are so insistent to waive the payment for additional birthday party guests when we're unable to do so; that they think we can just let the extra kids enter without letting "management" know (yes, you think it's simple, but we don't answer to you, we answer to The Boss); why they don't want the guests' siblings to come along at an additional charge because they've exceeded the maximum number of party guests allowed; why they will think of every reason to avoid paying that extra bit of money to give the kids a good time; why they are so stingy about spending a bit more money for the kids to be happy for one afternoon; why they are so stingy about giving other people an enjoyable day; why middle-income Singaporeans like to act rich but are the most difficult people when it comes to parting with even a cent of their money.

Dear Susan, you have no idea how many times, and in how many ways, you have been murdered in my mind in that 15-20 minutes of conversation during which you tried to make my working life difficult and tried to destroy my amicable work-relationship with The Boss. I am only glad that I am not working today so I don't need to see your face and be anywhere near you while your kid's birthday party was being held. I'd probably curse you a hundred times over every time I remember how you looked like if I knew how you looked like.

Anyway, that was already two days ago (Friday evening), so I'll probably just take it as another crazy customer that I always seem to have the bad luck of handling and forget about her in a week (of constant cursing).

So. Saturday night. Thanks a lot. Now I'll never look at Green Tea the same, ever again. Hmm. But I guess now our actual persons did get more Green Tea than our thumbs did...? :D

(And I want my red Converse jacket back! D:)

Here it is, the whole bunch of photos I've uploaded but never got the change to blog about (all right, I admit, I was just procrastinating).

Seven hours left and I still haven't gotten round to do #5 of that list!

My fandom's EPIC BROMANCE is Facebook approved )

11 August: Leonardo da Vinci )

3 and 10 July: Baking! )

10 July: Dinner with friends from polytechnic year 1 class )

August: Trying to make sushi )

26 August: Cookies this time )

Phew! And that's #4 taken care of! Looking back, most of my 2009 has been about food (or most of my life...?). I'm such a pig. But well. Now that I have a part-time job that earns me at least double of the allowance I used to get from my mother pre-job, I can bear to part with a little more of my money on better (but still student-affordable) food. For me, enjoying food comes along with enjoying the company of friends I'm having that meal with, and that experience of trying something new together. So... I guess it worked out well for a food-filled 2009...? Heh :D
