Kowai! Demo... Sugoi!
(It's) scary! But... (It's) amazing!
Remember those breakwaters at East Coast Park? So a few hours ago, Y and I saw dark shadows shifting about on the side facing the sea and I thought, "Whoa, rats?! Nah, can't be. Gotta be crabs." After a few seconds Y said those looked like rats after all. HOLY CRAP RATS CLIMBING UP AND DOWN AND ALONG THE FACE OF THE BREAKWATERS FACING THE SEA. And low enough that they were skirting the area where the breakwater was wet from the waves. Maybe they can swim, too? I remember that rats are capable of swimming... UGH EWW. I was equal parts freaked out and amazed at how good they are at climbing all over the steep incline. Then we spotted cockroaches on the breakwater, too. I wonder if the other people on that same breakwater ever noticed all those critters. *SHUDDERS*
Dear mother, one main reason why I let you know is so that I don't have to lie when I'm out. So you won't flip out and go berserk when you finally find out. So I don't need to always be on my guard and be paranoid that you might spot us wherever and create a scene. But with the ridiculous amount of control you want over the few and short moments we only get to have on weekends, it's making it very difficult to break my habit of lying. Grow up and smell the 21stcentury; don't tempt me back into hiding the truth from you.
