I really hate karma!

Was it karma? Or was it further proof that my life is governed by Murphy's Law?

THIS, wherein I ranted about one of my classmates who I hated ("... a poser who acts sarcastic, snarky and speaks with a fake accent [...] just so he can suck up to the so-called "leader" of their clique")?

Today, we were randomly picked for a project group for the Media, Law, Ethics module, and I just hated that I couldn't choose to form a group within our Clique. So I turned to [livejournal.com profile] thesuperette and told her very solemnly, "If I get [act-cool arse with super annoying fake accent], I will kill myself."

And the next thing I knew, I BLOODY GOT HIM FOR MY PAIR-WORK PARTNER.

Also? There's another girl we didn't like because she is over-the-top girly and her beyond-sweet voice and bimbotic-and-airheaded ways just incites my natural reflex to hold her neck with my hands. With all my strength.

Thanks to my ridiculously good (bad?) luck, she's in my group-work group along with the Poser (yes, they belong to the same Annoying Gang).

KILL ME NOW, PLEASE.

I swear, when our Clique left class, I could still hear Poser (and his Gang, inside) making fun of the pronunciation of my Mandarin name.

Oh, I'm so sorry that I don't have an English name more suited for the capabilities of your microscopic brain, and it's just too bad that you suck at your mother tongue so much that you can't pronounce a simple Mandarin name.

He'd better get my name right soon or I won't be able to keep to my promise of not murdering him (and the girl) before the end of next week.

Only redeeming point? There's another girl in the group that I'm okay with. BUT I FRIGGIN HAVE POSER FOR MY PAIR-WORK PARTNER! UGH!

After class, we had a short discussion for next Monday's presentation, and we ([livejournal.com profile] thesuperette, Y.Ting and William) went to Tampines 1 because I was meeting up with K.Ying to borrow her laptop, and [livejournal.com profile] thesuperette wanted to try the food that we didn't realise were available there when we went the first time.

We initially planned to eat just Frolick and the fruit tarts at Manpuku's Fruit Paradise (Blueberry Fruit Tart and Chocolate Banana Tart, which had cocoa powder that I choked on. Again. Blah. There are pictures from another blogger here), but we had an additional Honey Chocolate Toast and Macha Sundae (the latter because [livejournal.com profile] thesuperette is crazy for macha) from Manpuku's Kyoto Sabo.

William was dying because he hardly eats cold food, like ice-cream, and his reaction when eating Frolick and attempting the Macha Sundae later on was hilarious. And the Honey Chocolate Toast was pure YUM. Shame I didn't have my camera with me. Perhaps there'll be another chance to head to Tampines 1 again? The other stalls at Manpuku had really delicious-looking Japanese food, and I'm beginning to crave for them even though I've just had my dinner.

(And ugh. First week of school and I've already spent so much. On food. Justifiable, but I'll still need to cut back on spendings next week.)

We ended up chatting and analysing all the people in our own Clique and in the Annoying Gang, and sharing our first impressions of each other. So many hilarious revelations. Apparently, I'm "Sarcastic, Insulting, and Surprisingly-talkative". Um. Not the healthiest combination (for people on the receiving end).

And after they said it, I do get the feeling that I talk a lot. Yeah, well. I did make a conscious decision to be more outgoing, so, my objective has been met? XD

Honestly? I'm really thankful for my university friends. It's nice that we're all able to understand one another and still be close outside of school. I've had friends who I would be awkward with if we're not in a school environment where we're "forced" to stay friends with one another, so... it didn't feel like they were truly "friends" in every sense of the word? Anyway, the point is, I'm thankful for the friends I've made in university =)

All right, schoolwork is calling. Must work hard!

I totally agree that this is good experience to build up tolerance for the workplace in the future. Although, I've never shouted at people I disliked, because it's just going to make school life awkward, especially in this case when we'll probably be in the same class until we graduate (UGH!). I'll rant to all my friends, though. LOL. Then we'll have an epic poking-fun-at-them session XD

OMG FAN OUTING TO TAMP1!
But I'm getting super busy now =(
And it's only just the first week of school!

both of us lost,
but for a moment
we're lost together.
I wonder who you are."
