Oroka ku kashikoi na hitobito.
Stupid smart people.

I was searching for answers to a current affairs quiz for one of my modules when I came across this webpage, and a certain question and its corresponding answers.

Question No. 1285 :
What happens if we do not have a shadow? Will this make us sick or die?

Answer 1 :
Shadows are formed when light is cast on the object. Where the light did not pass a shadow will be formed. It has nothing to do with our health.

Answer 2 :
No. A shadow is formed when an object blocks light.

I was not happy.

One, the question was not answered; two, whoever answered the question clearly did not understand what was being asked. Might I add that lots of other questions in the so-called "World Wide Web resource database in Science" were also not answered at all.

I pity [livejournal.com profile] thesuperette, for she was on MSN IM and chatting with me when I came across that webpage, and so she became the perfect candidate for me to release my rant to.

My answer to the above question?

If we don't have shadows, it means that there's no light, no light means that there's no Sun, no Sun means that there's no natural light source, having no natural light source means that it's impossible for life to form, no life forming would mean that there will be no 'us', no 'us' means that there's nothing for shadows to form from, thus this would be a paradoxical hypothesis, which therefore makes it invalid.

SO THERE, TAKE THAT! HUMPH!

I like my answer. And I don't even have to be affiliated to Science Centre Singapore, Nanyang Technological University, nor National University of Singapore to come up with a more satisfactory answer!

I seriously doubt that the "smart" people in my country can even be called that.

Demonstrating the lack of a proper answer to its question is Exhibit B: Question No. 5620.

Hi -zq!
I like your answer better too. You are smart! (Honestly, you are!)

Couldn't open any of the links though *sigh*
(any Chinese/Japanese signs on this site???? Whatever the reason, IE doesn't want to go there ;)

Have a great evening, Hun!

(One more day then it's a prolonged weekend from Friday to Monday *hooray*)

Aww... *blushes* thanks XD

The site I linked to is all English. Hmm... they worked fine on FireFox, though. Maybe it's a browser problem? I've given up on IE a long time ago.

Have a great day!
(I actually don't want this week to end because it means that my mid-sem break will be over =( )

we're lost together.
