英和辞典を買った。
えいわじてんをかった。
Eiwa jiten wo katta.
I bought an English-Japanese dictionary.

(Done this way because I'm too tired to type a proper entry.)

■ I bought an Oxford Japanese Mini Dictionary from Kinokuniya despite having seriously overspent this month's allowance (shocking, considering how calculative I am about money, except if it's got to do with food. Maybe that's my problem there. Hmm...). Wanted to wait until I've saved up enough for it, but Shereen has a membership card so I can get it with a 20% discount. And I'm loving the dictionary so far =)

■ And now I'll need to buy coloured sticker tabs to differentiate the different sections and all the alphabets because I can't seem to find the packet I've bought long ago. Do I even still have it?

■ Went for two separate training sessions for the job at East Coast Park, once for balloon twisting/sculpturing crash course and the second to get introduced to the cash register and learn the place's pricing system. The cash register was the most high-tech I've ever handled thus far: swiping ID card to login, touchscreen, electronic archiving of each customer's spendings... The balloon class was fun despite the many rubbery casualties that had amounted during the few hours. They made it look so simple, twisting and manipulating the balloons, while I was deathly afraid that mine would burst in my face.

■ We were paid for attending both training sessions. Paid for playing with balloons. Yay for money!

■ I can do a balloon poodle! Yeah, noob level trick, I know.

■ First workday tomorrow!

■ Our supervisor said we can have a trial run in the kids' climbing structure. Yay for staff dibs! AND BALL POOL!

■ Am such a kid XD

■ My colleagues are making me (and my two other friends who are working there, too) feel old because they are all still studying in polytechnic and not-yet-20-years-old. Um... 21-year-old university student? *Points at self*

■ I blame part of my excessive spending this month on textbooks. Bloody expensive textbooks!

■ School is still tiring this week. Been sleeping at 2-3 a.m. for most nights. Not fun. Bus rides were conducive for catching up with sleep.

■ And then I almost missed my stop twice, once for the ride to school and once for the ride back home.

■ Because of the incompetency of my Media, Law, Ethics lecturer, group member allocation got messed up and half the class was thrown into chaotic confusion.

■ Silver lining? I'm no longer working with people from The Gang anymore!

■ Assignments are still sapping my whole being, nonetheless. What's new.

Jacq and [livejournal.com profile] thesuperette have named me 'Agnes'. Uh, ew? Doesn't sound me at all.

■ Then again, lots of English names sound nice on their own, but when spoken together with the Mandarin part of my name? Super weird.

■ Besides, I prefer 'Alana'. Although honestly, it's a little too late to adopt an English name.

■ Personally, the more I am averse to something (usually the 'in' thing), the more likely I'll end up getting/watching/using (etc.) it.

■ Used to hate Pokémon. I got hooked on the game in the end, and would rush home from choir practice to catch the anime.

■ Never really saw the appeal of CSI when it first started, even though I've always liked crime-solving stories. Then I watched an episode from the New York franchise and am now a fangirl of all three series.

■ Season 7 of CSI: Miami has ended this week. My reaction? "Meh." Nothing too special, but it's expected of the Miami franchise. The only good part left of that series is Ryan Wolfe (played by Jonathan Togo).

■ Whatever will become of my OTP for CSI: Miami? =(

■ Cue the fanfictions!

■ Anyway. I also hated Facebook. Especially so because everyone kept telling me to get one. And now I have an account there. I still don't like it.

■ I was just chatting with my friends yesterday about how much of a waste of time Twitter is and how useless it is.

■ Then I got home from school and—what do you know?—signed up for an account there.

■ Meh. Am just going to use it for fiction-writing practice.

Follow me there!

■ I've locked it, though, so whoever wants to read it will have to get an account in order to request following it. (Friends, let me know who you are by emailing me first, or I'll end up rejecting your request.)

■ Am tired from not getting more than four hours of sleep for the most of this week. But I have a long backlog of things to do...

"You can sleep when you're dead."

■ There is a limited amount of time every finite day and sleeping too much leaves you with less time to do things.

■ But I'm feeling pretty dead already. So that means... I have fulfilled the prerequisite in order to indulge in slumber? Right. Gonna try to hit the sack at 9 tonight.

■ Beauty Sleep, you cannot hide from me forever!

Agnes???? AGNES?????
LOL... sorry, but I can't EVER see you as an Agnes ;)

Nope... Alana, yes... Agnes? Never!

BTW, I think it's cool that so many Chinese "adopt" an English name. All my colleagues in China have. And sometimes that's totally funny. The assistant of our deputy general manager calls herself "Rosa". However, her Chinese last name is Ding. So she's Rosa Ding. in my language that translates into "pink thing" LOL...

Every time I have her on the phone I have to stop myself from giggling.

And LOl about your job. Are you kidding me? You get paid (you get MONEY) for making poodles out of balloons??? LOL... Talking about a real dream job! Go and have fun, kid!

Ah yes, the descent into fangirl world. ... Been there, done that. I was dead set to not even look at another CSI show and here I am deeply into Miami AND NY now. (still avoided Vegas so far... not even sure why).

Well, off now, before I steal even more of your precious little sleeping time. (Those where the times my dear, when I could get by on 3 hours sleep and still make sense in the morning. .... not gonna happen anymore ;)

Take care, Agnes ...uhm....nope, can't even 'say' it.... YUCK.

Take care, hun, and catch up on your beauty sleep :D

See! Agnes is weird! Glad that someone agrees.

My friend went to China for an internship in 2007, and there was a Chinese student there (also on internship) who was called "Happy". And one uni friend told me there was another person who's called "God". I kid you not.

I'm not really for adopting English names, because it feels like one more sign that even the Asian culture is getting "eroded" by Western ones. But I'd like to have one for people I won't know long-term (like part-time jobs and stuff) so that they can stop getting my name wrong.

YAY FOR BALLOONS! But my hands felt funny after constant contact with them. Must be that powdery stuff that's not good for my too sensitive fingers.

The original CSI is good! I like them for their cases. And characters. They like to have episodes focusing on a certain character that's kinda like a character study, and it's nice.

Ugh. Agnes. Please, no. I hope my friends give up soon.

You take care too! =)

Aren't we the same age? *is blur*

Eh, takai level would be the rocking horse? It looks complicated and we weren't taught how to do it. I'd probably burst 3 balloons just trying to do it lol.
