It's over! It's finally over!

It's mind-boggling, what a mere three days away from the Internet (excluding email and university related stuff) leaves one with a crazy load of things to catch up with, of which I have checked off The Daily Show, The Colbert Report, fanfictions over at [livejournal.com profile] wolfe_delko and LJ comments.

After going to bed at inhumane hours (4-5am) for the last two nights (days?) and getting only 2-3 hours of sleep in before waking up for classes, I can finally enjoy my slumber tonight! YAY! But first, I gotta update my LJ.

It was hilarious how everyone was today when we came to class. It seemed like the onslaught of assignments and lack of sleep had the same effect on all of us: increased lag-time before responding in a conversation and saying things that don't make sense. We're such a crazy lot.

Usually, the more tired out I am, the more lame-ass I'll be, probably because my psyche makes up for the lack of energy with useless adrenaline and self-amusement. This time however, the hyper-ness lasted all but 2 seconds after I sat down in class before my mind totally crashed and I blanked out. I just felt so woozy and all stuffed up with fluff. A friend of mine stared at me funny because she also thought that my hyper-ness would last longer than that.

But! After a 4-hour post-lunch nap, I was totally revived! Woots!

Torchwood's series 3 trailer is out! *Does happy dance*

I was kinda saddened by the news that series 3 (Torchwood: Children of Earth) was pushed back from a Spring time slot to Summer. Then again, that meant that between Doctor Who specials and Torchwood, there wouldn't be a prolonged period where I won't have anything from the Whoniverse to watch. So... I guess it's all good.

Anyway. OMG the trailer (link to the video on Youtube here)! I'm so excited (again) now!

I was trying so hard to hold in the urge to squee when Ianto appeared because I was watching the trailer in the school library. Oh, Ianto... *swoons* Oh, the Jack/Ianto moment at 0:56... And Gwen looked kinda badass. I'm hoping she's a little less intellectually-redundant this time, because from what I've heard, Eve Myles (she plays Gwen) is quite a fangirl of the show and the boys herself, and to have her act a sucky character isn't very nice. Plus, it would be a total waste for her character to make no growth since the past series.

(By the way, I'm a little worried about the bloody looking burnt-but-not-dead-corpse. There was this speculation that the corpse is [click for possible spoiler, scroll right to the end of the screencaps].)

Torchwood, oh Torchwood. Can Summer be here now? I don't know if I can bear to wait any longer for more doses of Jack (yum!), Ianto (yum!) and canon!slash (SUPER YUM!). But I should be grateful that there is a Doctor Who Easter special to look forward to.

Valentine's Day is coming, which means that I'll have to keep that Saturday free to celebrate a friend's birthday. I am so looking forward to it despite the prerequisite that I'll have to fork out quite a bit of cash for the dinner and present, since the few of us hardly have the time to meet up regularly ever since graduating from secondary school five years ago.

Hmm... I wonder where we'll be having dinner. I'm hoping for a good (and still affordable) restaurant, since it's her 21st birthday (so-called 'fully adult' age in Singapore) after all.

On a side note, I'm feeling relieved that this year, I'm not the one coordinating our meeting-up. I've been doing that for the past couple of times, even for my own birthday (like, hello? People shouldn't need to organise things for their own birthday celebration). Figuring out when's the most convenient time for everyone to meet up, where to go, what present to buy... It's pure madness and aggravation until everything's settled, which usually is one day before the actual event if we'er lucky, or just a few hours earlier on the day itself if luck isn't on our side.

It's not the best time this year, when the friend's birthday already falls on Valentine's Day, which is also a Saturday this time. Still, I thought it'll be easy to get friends who are already attached to celebrate their Valentine's Day some other time and meet up for the birthday celebration instead—because friends before men, right? Wrong.

I was trying to convince a friend to come meet up with us and all the excuse she could give for not being able to make it was, "It's Valentine's Day..."

I didn't want to rant about her, since she's sort of my closest friend since secondary school, but this is where I draw the line. It's not everyday that a friend finally reaches the legal age, and, we hardly have the time to catch up with one another already. Would it be so torturous to go on a date some other day? Would it kill to put 'friends' as a priority for this one time? And to think that she was the one who said that no matter what happened, 'friends' are always more important than 'boyfriends'.

Well now doesn't that sound a little familiar? Oh, I remember. That's exactly what a double standard sounds like!

She even had the audacity to ask if she could bring her boyfriend to the birthday celebration, if she really were to come, when the soon-to-be birthday girl doesn't even know him at all!

RAWR! I am so bloody annoyed by this (in addition to whenever it's about her and my birthday because she never bothered to remember which day it is)!

But, meh. Whatever. I can't be bothered to point all these things out to her when she's already being such an ass.

All right. Sleep is calling. Here's to hoping that I can get more than eight hours of sleep tonight.
