Super happy!!!

I PASSED MY JLPT4 YO.

(Ignore the grainy photo; I took it with Albus's Photo Booth.)

Okay, so I barely passed (passing grade is 240), but still! And here I was, worrying about failing my grammar section and thus failing the whole exam. At least the $45 registration and examination fee didn't go to waste!

Last Saturday, I went to ION Orchard with K.Ying for dinner and some window shopping. And I saw a Swatch ladies' analog watch that I actually kinda like (Style Queen YLC1000).

K.Ying thinks it's nice too, but despite falling more and more in love with the watch, I was quite put off by the strap because it's white, and the material? Rubber. I shudder to think how easily it would get dirty and discoloured. Even though it was possible to buy a separate strap, none of the non-rubber straps on sale matched the watch. I left the store with a sadface.

A few minutes later we walked into Fossil (whoa, that tangy leather smell? AWESOME) and I saw a watch that was very close to what I had in mind for a year (slightly bigger and with multiple hands—what are those called? Too bad it's not those with half exposed gears. That would have been really cool): Chronograph Silver Dial.

I couldn't make up my mind between the two, but I was slightly swaying towards the Fossil watch because at least the strap is leather. It didn't help that K.Ying thinks the Swatch looked better. So I showed my mother the watches when I got home, and she thinks both are nice but preferred Fossil's. Her deciding factor? The leather strap. She gave a grunt-sputter of disapproval at Swatch's white rubber strap. HAHA. Today, I dragged had Y.Ting and Jay accompany me to ION again so I could get their opinions on this matter.

Y.Ting didn't like the white rubber strap either. And when we stepped into Fossil, she immediately found the watch that I liked without me mentioning anything (WOW). And chose it over Swatch. Jay eventually agreed, but only after all of us decided on an extra dark brown strap to match my skin colour better.

Well. My mind is now made up, and if I can't find a shop in Bugis that sells the watch ($195, extra $50 for that extra strap because it comes only in either white or red) cheaper, I'll be going back to ION for the third time this coming Friday to finally, finally buy that watch.

Wow. It's the first time I'll be spending so much on a watch (don't worry, six-year-old Casio Illuminator, I still love you).

M.Yi used this video in her presentation for International Media Studies today and I was very amused by it so I thought I should share.
