You're totally right! If albeit had really gone obsolete in the 1600s, we wouldn't have any idea that it existed, much less know how to use it. Because there are dozens of words we don't use any more that we used in the 1600s.

Aw, that's a pity. But although more experienced lecturers are good... If they're really old they can also be totally set in their ways and can't keep up with the changing atmosphere of the world. Or if they made mistakes during their career that no one pointed out to them, they might pass on those mistakes to you.

But it seems that it's going to be fine for you, you seem to have a firm "I don't believe everything the teacher's says" policy :D
