Bookwormish indulgence

私は本を大好き!
わたしはほんをだいすき!
Watashi wa hon wo daisuki!
I love books!

Torchwood novels!
Another Life, Border Princes and The Twilight Streets!
(Oh, Ianto... Pretty Ianto... *strokes book cover*)

(Because even there might be proof that I'm a huge fangirl, there isn't much proof that I'm just as crazy about books. Especially if they're related to one of my fandoms.)

I met up with S.Lan in the afternoon (after some phototaking with Jacq because she wanted to sell some no-longer-needed clothes online, but more on that once I finish editing all the photographs) for some random shopping-and-walking-about, which was when I took the opportunity to use the Kinokuniya gift vouchers my secondary school friends gave me for my birthday. AM SUPER HAPPY XD

Dear L3 partner! We must meet up more often because unlike you, who has four months worth of free time, I only have three weeks!

And to my F-list who knows/learned Japanese: I'm thinking of getting a Japanese-English dictionary. Oxford's looking pretty good. What do you guys think?

以上、Chii です。

You have kinokuniya gift vouchers ;-; Lucky! Your friends are so nice~

Hmmm, I can't remember the name of the dictionaries my Japanese class uses at school, but I think they're from kodansha? The oxford ones are good, though~

(Coz I was afraid that they won't know what to get me and might buy something I won't get to use so I said they could just get me book vouchers XD)

Thanks for the info! I'll keep a look out for Kodansha dictionaries =)
Oxford looked the best out of the few I saw today, but I won't know until I compare them.

Pretty, pretty people on your books. :) I really need to watch Torchwood!

You take such wonderful photographs. I am so jealous. :P

And I am not on that list, but I think it would be cool to obtain a Japanese-English dictionary. :)

It's just a matter of getting the right angle and a little Photoshopping, because mine's not the SLR kinds and I don't have the best lighting in my room.

And a proper dictionary will work so much better than online translations! I need to work harder at saving money XD

I am looking for a japanese-English dictionary too. My sensei recommended Oxford, but i have not check it out yet. If you really bought one, can tell me if it is good? :)

[identity profile] ausare.livejournal.com 2009-04-17 04:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Ooh... Then it has to be pretty good, since your sensei recced it.

I was randomly flipping through the other day, and it looked better than the others I saw. And Oxford dictionaries are um... supposedly the better ones?

i've oxford but i hardly use it. lol.
it's useful, in my opinion.:D

LOL!!

All right then! Oxford it is!

Oh thanks. Now I remembered that I have to buy one of those dictos. I'm having more remarks on oxford. Bet it's good. :)

You take pictures good! Am envious. What's the MP of your cam?

Oh, to tell us apart, I only have one I on my Chi. But I don't think we'll get compared but I just wanna say it out loud. :D

It's um... *checks cam* 6.3MP. Mine's a Fujiflim. If you tend to take close-ups, Canon would be more suitable because its macro function is better. And there should be better cams out there, because mine's a few years old already. (And there isn't much you can't achieve with a little Photoshop magic XD)

Ahaha~ "Chi(i)" is quite popular, no? I think Chobits is partly to blame. LOL. But mine comes from my Chinese name that everyone pronounces wrong and years ago when my Indonesian friend tried to get it right, "Chii" was the closest she could get.
